The Family Resource Center

Building Community is an ongoing lesson in my classroom. We talk about being part of a community, welcoming others, how we treat community members, celebrating differences, and my classroom expectations are community focused.

       

 

Later in the year, our lessons focus on what community means, being part of community, our responsibility as community members, celebrating differences/diversity, inclusion, and making community "our own place", bringing everyone at Sunnybrae a little closer.

Something new this year is our Family Resource Center. When others in our community have needs, we take care of each other. The Family Resource Center has basic items available to families that need immediate help or items to sustain daily needs until other long term support services can be provided. Our Community Liaison, Julia Ho, will be working with families to ensure they have the support they need.

*Clothing: We are only taking newly purchased shoes and clothing (preferably that your kids have not seen). This is to prevent students being able to identify others that have been in need of support.

 

If there are specific items or ongoing needs that the Family Resource Center cannot provide, we connect with other agencies in the area to assist families.
